Sussex Junior & Senior Squad Training

Worthing Sports Centre on Sunday 29th April

The first (Junior) Sussex Squad Session will be held at Worthing Leisure Centre from 10 am – 12 noon on Sunday 29 April 2018. The Senior Session will follow on directly after (12 noon to 2pm). Any judoka from any Sussex Club is welcome to attend this squad session. There are some weights within the girls’ squad which are currently unconfirmed and we will be using the squad session to finalise the team to represent the county on 13 May 2018 in Kent. The session will be led by Sam and Alex O’Loughlin with support from a number of Sussex Club Coaches. A message from your new squad managers: This session is our first opportunity to meet you all and see your strengths and areas we can look to develop. We are keen to get feedback on each session and ask coaches to get in touch regarding hosting additional dates through 2018/19. Please ensure that you bring a judo gi, footwear to wear off the mat, a water bottle and a healthy snack – you will need the energy and hydration. We intend to make the session as fun and relaxed as possible whilst also ensuring that there is structure – incorporating and encouraging coach and player contribution. The Sussex Squad (to represent the County in May) has already been selected and the competitors, contacted. There may still be changes whilst we await confirmation that the selected team are able to compete, however there also are specific weight groups which require county representation (as no-one entered in the trials): Boys – Over 73 Girls – Under 36, Under 44, Under 57 and Over 70 If you would qualify for any of the above weight groups can you please get in touch and, preferably attend the squad session on 29 April. Email: We look forward to seeing you all again soon Sam and Alex
